What is SpotAudit™?
SpotAudit™ is the answer imagined by Imezio to establish a quick and cost effective remote diagnostic of interference conditions in Wi-Fi networks, primarily as a way to constrain the maintenance costs involved by interference on the Voilà® sites.
Because the 2.4GHz spectrum that is the medium used by Wi-Fi networks is unregulated, many wireless devices use this spectrum and most of them will impair even the most properly designed and implemented wireless networks. Without being exhaustive, typical wireless devices that produce Wi-Fi interference are: baby monitors, TV repeaters, cordless phones, old satellite receivers, wireless surveillance cameras. They are perfectly legal and are sold even in the best known consumer electronics shops. Some of these devices spread their scrambling signal several hundred meters away, and some others simply "erase" the very existence of a professional wireless access point to the eye of a laptop within a meter of this access point. This is a serious concern or most WISPs.
Who can be a SpotAudit™ customer and how much does it cost?
SpotAudit™ is a proven solution opened to licensing worldwide and any business who runs a wireless network. Imezio Ltd is willing to get the burden of the interference diagnostic off the shoulders of other WISPs, whether based in NZ or overseas.
All the Voilà® customers are SpotAudit™ customers for free! It's all part of the service.

New Zealand based WISPs are welcome to become SpotAudit™ customers under specific agreements.
Overseas based WISPs are welcome to become customers of Imezio. We will provide them with and maintain the devices and provide support to their engineers. Our licensing model is based on the number of sites and the number of devices required. We are also keen to set up fully outsourced operations for them.
We welcome enquiries from any overseas based IT services companies with a significant Wi-Fi customer base.
How does it work?
The solution is a combination of process and technology.
- On request, we ship the SpotAudit™ device on the remote site with overnight delivery,
- The requestor (or the on site person designated by the requestor) will power on the device and walk around the premises. Within 5 minutes, the device will power off automatically and will be ready to be returned for data analysis. The return bag is enclosed.
- The full diagnostic is performed on reception and sent back to you via email. Our report tells you which channels should be used, and which should be avoided. In many cases, the configuration of the Wi-Fi access points can be adjusted by the Wi-Fi administrator within 2 business days from the reception of the request.
